Torbjörn Johansson (b.1959) is an abstract painter. He looks at his work as an ongoing investigation of the subjective meaning of this particular form of expression. He is interested in the performative process, and of exploring the result of different approches to the handeling of materials, techniqes and formats. The relations between the work and the room is an important part of the work - in order to extend, widen or end the boundaries of the space.

He is based in Stockholm and educated at The Royal Art Academy 1987-92.

"Mitt arbete är en pågående undersökning av vad måleri är och betyder för mig. Jag är mycket intresserad av hela kedjan: att kombinera olika ofta fragila material och verktyg som ger helt olika resultat. En performativ målerisk akt där närvaro och installationen i rummet är avgörande. Jag vill överraska mig själv och behålla en nyfikenhet inför vad som händer i mötet mellan de olika materialen, målningen/objektet och rummet. En inlärd erövrad teknik klingar av i intresse och jag vill vidare. Den mest givande och sista länken i kedjan är mötet med rummet. Ofta arbetar jag direkt i rummet med vägg- och golvmåleri där målningar och objekt installeras i syfte att spänna upp, vidga eller sluta rummets gränser."

The Norwegian/Swedish artist Jan Marius Kiøsterud (b. 1980) works within an interdisciplinary practice with a main focus on sculpture.

His artistic expression consists of contradictions between what is regarded as traditionally beautiful and what can be seen as disgusting or ugly, from an interest in human nature and its complexity. The human psyche, sexuality, depression, nostalgia and love are defined and become comprehensive by a number of contradictory feelings and factors, something that the art of Kiøsterud also inhibits.

Kiøsterud is a coordinator for the art space Platform Cornière est 2018.

He holds a Master in Fine Arts degree from Akademin Valand in Gothenburg, (MFA), Sweden, a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo (BA), Norway, and Det Jyske Kunstakademi, Århus, Denmark.
